Just an enthusiast of all (most) things technical

I can put the idea to this website all down to John Gruber and Jason Kottke on their latest episode of The Talk Show. Walking with my dog and listening to their podcast, I was inspired to start my own blog. Now, blogs (or web logs for those out there that prefer) aren’t new, and I’ve had my own website for years for my photography, but I’ve never had my own place. A place to talk about the things in life I enjoy, ort the latest technology I’ve acquire. So here it is, iDan.au.

“iDan” came from a very good friend of mine, who would come to me with all sorts of questions about all things Apple. He nicknamed me iDan, as in iPhone, iPod, iPad, iMac, etc. It made sense, Apple was founded by the two Steves on 01 April 1976, and nine months later I was born. So this will have a lot of Apple stuff, for sure. But also home theatre, movies, VR, games, anything that takes my fancy and that I want to share with the world.

So hopefully you enjoy what I write. I’m not a writer per se, but I’ve always had the desire to express my thoughts beyond what Facebook or Twitter offer. Both of which are now dumpster fires of the modern world. You can find me over at Mastodon though (link in the top right), which as of writing is a very pleasant place to be.
