Diablo 4 Launch

It’s here. After months, nay, years of waiting, Diablo 4 is finally reality. Not a beta, or a stress test. We finally have the full game.

Error 37-Not funny at the time

So how was the launch? Did Blizzard prepare themselves well enough? Or was it Error 37 all over again?

I’m happy to say, for me at least on PC, it’s been smooth sailing all the way. I understand that Playstation 5 owners have seen issues with a licencing bug, but for me it’s been almost faultless. My day one, minute one login to the Battle.net app was 4 minutes. Once I started the game it was less than a minute and I weas off to the races. Not too bad at all Blizzard, not too bad at all.

I am so far enjoying the game, with it occupying most of my weekend on early release. The cost of the cosmetics is laughably overpriced with a full set for a single class costing over $AU35, a third the cost of the full game. That’s a lot to pay to dress up your in-game dolls.

The story is excellent so far, with cutscenes using the in-game engine and looking absolutely gorgeous. I did skip past a lot in the first act though, having been through it all 3 times in the beta period, but I’ve been soaking it up as soon as I got to the new stuff.

Overall this is well worth a buy. It’s polished. It’s fun. And the initial release of this game has apparently more content than Diablo 3 does today. I’m just over level 40, and with a level 100 cap and a whole lot post-campaign content to dive into I’ll have plenty to keep me occupied, all over again.
