Star Trek:Picard

Oh man! I was looking forward to this final season from the trailer, but I didn’t think I’d be this happy to watch it. This has all the tropes of a Next Generation story arc set in modern times. If only Star Trek Discovery ended up being this good.

Family reunion

The season features Picard reuniting with his old crew from the Next Generation series (Geordi La Forge, Worf, Will Riker, Beverly Crusher, Deanna Troi, and Data) as well as some new allies while facing a mysterious new enemy who is hunting Beverly’s son, Jack Crusher. The highlight though, is Captain Liam Shaw, who took command of USS Titan-A. And damn, does he have a way of putting things!

I’m really sorry, fellas. I love you; I do. I love reading about all your wildly exciting and equally irresponsible adventures, but I have orders that come down from actual officers whose pay grade are far above all of ours, so... request denied.

Getting the whole gang back together

The season is full of twists and turns, action and drama, nostalgia and innovation. It explores themes such as family, legacy, morality, and destiny. It also pays homage to the Star Trek franchise by referencing events and characters from previous series and films.

One of the highlights though are the space battles. 2 on 1 fights over a space station, daring cat and mouse through a nebula, and the best game of Portal you’ve never seen.

Picard season 3 is a must-watch for any Star Trek fan, as it delivers a thrilling and touching end to one of the most iconic characters in sci-fi history. It is a fitting tribute to Patrick Stewart’s career and a testament to the enduring appeal of Star Trek.
